Why did we create Agria?
Humans once were a migratory species moving to where food was naturally available. After gaining an understanding of farming we were able to start creating cities. Without farming modernity could look very different. But as far as we have come as a species some of us still go hungry. Even in America, some 23 million people live in what is considered a “Food Desert”. This disparity disproportionally affects low income people especially black people. This leads to Agria’s mission to eliminate food deserts while creating economic opportunities to these distressed areas. Supply chains saw tremendous shocks in 2020 as the world shut down due to Covid 19, so if we want to be in a better place to handle such shocks our food production system needs innovation.
